Where can I submit my letter text and pictures?

I only have my text ready. Can I submit my letter?
Please do not submit your letter until you have every piece of your letters (text and photos) gathered and finalized. We cannot begin work on a letter until every piece has been received and we ask that you submit it all on the same form at the same time. 

Can I request a particular template for my letter?
Yes, after you look at our Template page, you can write in the notes section of your letter submission which template you'd like to use. Some of the templates have multiple layout options within the template (e.g. Column of 3 Photos, Row of 3 Photos, etc.) and you can also record that in the notes section if you have a preference.

How much text can I include in my letter?
Check out our Template page for information on all three of our templates. Each option for every side of the letter will list exactly how many characters can fit into the letter. The front side will have a bubble that says how many characters (with spaces) will fit on that side. The second side will also have a bubble that says how many additional characters (with spaces) on the second side. So, if you're writing a long letter that will use both sides, you can add the character limit for the front that you want to use with the character limit for the back that you want to use to determine the total number of characters you can submit. 

How many pictures can I include in my letter?
The template that can fit the most pictures allows you to include up to nine high-resolution pictures. The templates can hold any number between zero and nine photos. 

What dimensions do my photos need to fit within?
Every single one of our templates use landscape-oriented pictures with the dimensions: 1.4x1. Please keep this in mind when you submit photos. We can crop them to the correct dimension for you, but if you submit a portrait-oriented picture, much of your picture may be cropped. 

It's been a week and I haven't received my proof yet!
We strive to return proofs within one week and we often will return them to you within a couple days of receiving your submission. If it has been over a week and you have not yet received your proof to review, please email us at letters@yfc.net so that we can determine the status of your letter. Rarely, submissions can not be processed correctly or perhaps an email went to the wrong address, so please reach out so we can make sure to get your letter out at time. 

The letter submission form isn't letting me upload my letter. 
Double-check that you are submitting your text in a typical text file format (like Word) and your pictures as png or jpg files. Then, try backing out of the form or refreshing the page and try again. 

What analytic information can I see for my e-letter?

Open Rate: Number of e-letter opens
Click Rate: Number of total clicks
Number of forwards
Subscribers with most opens
Bounced email addresses
Unsubscribed email addresses

Why not just attach a PDF of my letter?
Starting in June 2016, YFC transitioned to email campaigns in MailChimp. These templates are created to be viewed on a desktop or mobile, allowing donors to have a better experience reading and a seamless connection to your individual giving page. 

How will I know my e-letter was sent?
You will receive your own e-letter in your inbox. 

Will I receive replies to my e-letter?
Yes, we set up each MailChimp e-letter from your YFC email so that your recipients can reply directly to the e-letter and you will receive the reply right in your inbox.
